Solar storage for homes and villas

Plan a system around the electricity you use, the solar energy you generate and the appliances you want to keep running.

A home solar storage system connects a photovoltaic array, a compatible inverter and a battery. It can shift daytime solar generation into evening use. Backup operation needs an inverter with the appropriate backup output and a correctly designed essential-load circuit.

Start with essential loads

List the appliances that must operate during an outage and their simultaneous power demand. Air conditioning and pumps can have starting currents that materially affect inverter sizing.

Match power and energy

Inverter power in kW limits the load it can support. Battery energy in kWh affects operating time. Usable battery energy is lower than nominal energy and depends on operating limits.

Check the installation

Confirm the proposed location, temperature range, enclosure rating, wall or floor loading, and clearance requirements. An indoor battery should not be assumed suitable for outdoor desert conditions.
